AIM Voter Commitment
Based on our values AIM is organizing on this agenda.
Equity in Education: Fund quality after school programming for 2400 students at high poverty schools, renovate schools in high poverty areas, address bullying and other challenges facing Muslim students such as access to daily and Friday prayers.
Affordable Housing: Increase funding in the Housing Initiative Fund to $100 M a year and create a pipeline of 200+units/year of affordable housing on public land.
Immigration: Provide $800,000 a year in deportation defense for unrepresented immigrants and to protect immigrant families, as well as house refugees in Montgomery County. These measures would bring Montgomery County on par with Prince Georges County and Baltimore. Transportation: Protect bus service from being cut for Montgomery County residents and protect public transportation from being privatized.
