The title of our side event is "Building the Grand Coalition for Climate Action with Youth, Music and Resources". At the side event, which has been coordinated with UNFCCC Action for Climate Empowerment team (Adriana Valenzuela Jimenez), we are going to launch the Global Challenges Youth Music Contest #GYMC18, inviting young people to produce music video clips that sing about their vision of a grand coalition for climate action (note: we have organized already for COP21 such a competition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJ4pObZWg5A, this time we are going to organize the edutainment show with the GYMC18 winners during the California Non-state Actors Climate Summit in San Francisco in Sept. 2018). At the event we will present our campaign "Youth Love Climate Action" for which we have received the City of Bonn COP23 partner logo. The third element of the event will be the launch of the social media campaign "Call for Resources for Youth Climate Action", a campaign which has been launched at COP22 in Marrakech last year (http://www.glocha.info/index.php/giveyouthachance) and which calls on the signatories of the Giving Pledge to channel 100 million US$ towards youth empowerment for climate action. There will be a workshop for the preparation of a social media strategy for this campaign during COY13 and the event at Fiji pavilion will be an opportunity to present the outcomes of the workshop (like e.g. the campaign video and youth climate action heroes) to COP23 participants. The 4th element of the event will be statements of 2 recipients of the YOUNGO Global South Scholarships who are receiving from our organization accreditation for COP23, one of them being from SIDS.
