The short explanation of this alert was:

Send Your Message In A Bottle to Congress with Margo Pellegrino

Surfrider Activist Completes 500-Mile Paddle In Support of Our Oceans and Oceans-21 (HR 21)

Last summer, Surfrider activist Margo Pellegrino paddled from Miami to Maine to inspire her two children and others to take an active role in the stewardship of our oceans.  This summer, she embarked on her second major voyage from the Atlantic Seaboard to Capitol Hill to deliver messages from concerned citizens urging Congress to Save Our Seas (S.O.S.) by passing healthy ocean legislation like Oceans-21 (HR 21).

Supported by the Natural Resources Defense Council, Surfrider Foundation, and other coastal advocacy groups, Margo has paddled her outrigger canoe 500 miles through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, meeting with concerned citizens and collecting their S.O.S. messages in a bottle to give to Congress, urging them to protect, preserve and restore our oceans for future generations by enacting Oceans-21.

Margo is landing in Capitol Hill today to deliver these S.O.S. messages to our Congressional Representatives, and to discuss her journey and the need for healthy oceans legislations like Oceans-21.  You can be one of the voices she brings to DC.

Join Margo in asking Congress for support of Oceans-21, to address the state of our oceans and the need for legislative solutions.
